In the morning, your tour guide and driver will meet you at your hotel for your mountain biking adventure. We will head down to the South Valley of Cusco, scarce with tourists, and we will enjoy a perfect blend of cultural expedition and biking adventure. We will begin in Tipón, famous for its aqueducts and hydraulic engineering, as well as for its terraces, wonders from another time. Here we will visit the Incan ruins and explore the site. Then, we will continue to Andahuaylillas, where we will visit the local church, beautifully decorated and example of marvelous religious art, also known as the Sistine Chapel of America. After enjoying lunch, we will start riding our bikes. At this point, we will provide you with the safety equipment you need before starting the activity. From Andahuaylillas you will ride to Pisaq, visiting along the way the town of San Sebastián. You will be riding on a paved road which is mainly flat and which affords beautiful sights. On the sides of the road you will be able to appreciate beautiful cultivated fields with quinoa or kiwicha, among other crops. Also, you will be accompanied by the Vilcanota River, which flows next to the road. Once you arrive to Pisaq, you will explore the colorful market and take back a souvenir if you wish, there are plenty of handcrafts to choose from! Finally, you will go to your hotel in Pisaq and get a well-deserved rest, which you will need for the next day´s bike adventure!
In the morning, after a nice breakfast, you will get on your bikes and start a journey through the Sacred Valley. Sided by the Vilcanota River, you will go down a flat and smooth paved road, winding between the valleys and mountains that intertwine. You will be able to appreciate several local crops, and will view still more quinoa and kiwicha. Upon arrival to Urubamba, you will have a delicious lunch and try some of the local products that grow in the lands you have traversed. You will have time to explore Urubamba and its local market, and enjoy the friendly weather characteristic of this area. You might want to ride around town, or just chill. You will get a good night´s sleep in Urubamba and get ready for the adventures of the following day!
This morning, your tour guide will pick you up at your hotel for your triathlon adventure through the Sacred Valley. We will go to Chinchero, a beautiful textile town where we will provide you with the safety equipment you need before starting the bike ride. This is a great tour for most people as the paths are flat and we will take many bike-only trails. River valleys, glaciers and stunning views, with some occasional ruins along the way, will be our stunning scenery for the day. By bicycle we will go up to the Waypo Lake, where the kayaking adventure will start; no experience is needed as this is a very smooth and peaceful lake. You will relax and explore the lake with our professional Kayaks before taking a delicious picnic lunch at the bank of the lake, enjoying the amazing nature around you. After lunch we will bike some more off the beaten path to Maras, a typical Andean village. Here you will have a look at the streets and get a sense that you are back in the time of the Incas as a lot of the culture has remained very similar. The people continue to wear traditional clothing and the town is lined with historical buildings. Also, you will have a chance to see the very impressive San Francisco Church. Furthermore, you will have an opportunity to visit the salt terraces of Maras to see and learn about an ancient pre-Incan method of producing salt. After visiting the salt flats, you will start the trekking through the Sacred Valley until you reach the Urubamba river. At the end of the trek, you will be taken to Ollantaytambo, one of the last Incan refuges during Spanish colonization. You will step back in time as many of the houses and buildings continue to stand from the Incan empire and display original architecture.
After your tour we will take you to the train station of Ollantaytambo, where your private tour guide will accompany you on a one hour and a half train journey through spectacular scenery to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.
In the morning, your private tour guide will meet you at your hotel for your expedition through Machu Picchu, The Lost City of the Incas´. At this spectacular sacred Incan site, you will learn about the history and visit the truly remarkable temples of the Sun and the Condor. You will also see the aqueducts and houses, while learning some interesting facts about the Incan Sacred Terraces. After your guided tour, you will have plenty of time to explore this truly magnificent site on your own. There are many short trek options, such as a the one to the Sun Gate for an impressive view of Machu Picchu or a visit to the Incan Bridge, a secret entrance for the Incan Army. The most adventurous trekkers should not miss the famous mountain climb to the summit of Wayna Picchu, which can be scheduled at either 7am or 10am; however, there is a limit on the number of people who can climb each day so you will need to book it with us in advance. In the afternoon you will return back to Aguas Calientes in time for your train to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, we will take you to your hotel in Cusco.
In the morning, at 9am, we will pick you up at your hotel and embark on a biking adventure around the nearby archaeological sites of Cusco. We will provide you with all the safety equipment that you need before starting the tour and there is no reservation needed, you just need to show up 10 minutes before the tour. You will start your ride on a 2 mile uphill winding road up to the church of San Francisco -previously the Inca Huayna Capac's palace- from which you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of Cusco. Later on, you will also have the opportunity to have a look at the beautiful temple of Sacsayhuaman, which continues to be a very important religious and ceremonial site for the Incan culture and is an example of the ingenious architectural achievements of the Incan civilization. Some of the fitted uniquely shaped stones weighed some 70 tons. Later, we will pass by the temple of the Moon with its many caves and rock carvings, where we will take a rest, relax, and enjoy the view. Along the way, with plenty of stunning views, we will stop occasionally to take photos. The neighborhood streets of Cusco will provide a beautiful backdrop as we ride until we return to your hotel.
Today your private driver will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the Cusco Airport for your domestic flight to Lima.
